Avalon produces ASIC miners. In fact, they were the company that first brought ASIC chips to Bitcoin mining, and several months ago they released the Avalon 7 line (721 and 741). Either of these miners could be a good option for those who are just getting into the field, or those who want to find some additional high-quality machines that they can use to mine.
What Does the Avalon 721 Offer?
The 721 was the initial upgrade from the Avalon 6. It offers 6 TH/s hashing power, and it will consume between 850 and 1,000 watts. These upgrades have made it a more powerful option when compared with the Avalon 6. However, it does still lag behind some of the other more powerful options available, such as the Antminer S9.
The 721 includes the AvalonMiner Controller, and it is possible to connect up to five devices to this controller. When you connect five devices to the controller, it can provide you with 30 TH/s. While this certainly seems like a lot of hashing power – and it is – keep in mind that you would have to buy five of these machines to reach that much power. It could be cheaper to buy two Antminer S9s in that case. The device can operate in temperatures from -5 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius. It also comes with a 90-day warranty.
Even though this might not be as powerful as an Antminer S9, you also have to consider the cost of the miner. It is much cheaper, and this could help to make it a perfect entry level option for someone who wants to mine for Bitcoins, but who does not want to spend $2,000 on an Antminer S9.
What Does the Avalon 741 Offer?
Shortly after the release of the Avalon 721, the company released the Avalon 741. This new device provided even more improvements that people had wanted from Avalon. It has a hash rate of 7.3 TH/s, and it consumes about 1150 watts. It can operate at the same temperatures, and one of the biggest benefits of this device is that it has a simple to user interface.
The setup of the devices is fast and simple, as you would want, and it is only a little more complicated than a plug and play device. You can enter your pool information and get started quickly and easily with the system.
The new design of the Avalon 741 helps to make cooling easier. It calls this feature Airform Cooling Technology, and it helps to funnel the air through the device so the heat and be forced out efficiently. This can help them to run much cooler, which is often a concern, especially for those who are keeping these devices at their home.
This is a very stable device, which is one of the hallmarks from Avalon. Again, you can chain together several of these units on the same controller. One important thing to note about this is that you cannot chain together the different models. They will all need to be either the Avalon 721 miners or the Avalon 741 miners.
The 741 are also priced much lower than the Antminer S9 units, so getting several of these could be a better option for you. Again, they can be a great entry level miner for those who are getting started.
Consider the Avalon 7
Even though many people are talking about Antminer hosting and Dragonmint, do not overlook the miners that come from Avalon. They could be just what you have been hoping to find.
