Bitmain Announces Launch Of New Bitcoin Miner

According to a source familiar with the company’s plans, China’s Bitmain, which is the world’s biggest Bitcoin mining equipment maker, is developing a new mining device that will be more efficient.

The miner is equipped with the latest 5-nanometer technology, which allows it to achieve a computing power of up to 150 terahashes per second. It consumes less energy than previous generations.

Colin Wu, who used to work for Bitmain, first tweeted about a new miner called S19XP. Wu is a former communications manager for a company Bitmain and wanted to be the first to break the news.

Bitmain will announce the S19 XP at its upcoming mining conference in Dubai, a source told The Block. VIP customers have already heard about the upcoming conference. The new miner is expected to be the most powerful Bitcoin mining device in the market. This is because it will have the new touted specifications of 150 Th/s.

The S19 Pro is Bitmain’s most powerful mining equipment that has a hash power of 110 t/s and power consumption of around 3.1 kwh. The enhanced chip technology will be able to handle a lot more mining while using a lot less energy. TSMC started to order 5-nanometer chips for Bitmain at the beginning of this year.
